Jog On! Bristol 10K a success.

5 July 2012 Ape Alliance News

Gorillas, Orangutans and Humans all aped around in costumes to complete the Bristol 10K in May 2012 raising over £1000 for Ape Alliance.

Co-ordinated by the Ape Alliance Volunteers at the University of Bristol, 11 runners all ran to help our hairy cousins. We had Gorillas, humans and an Orangutan chasing a bunch of bananas all the way around the harbourside, under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, past the SS Great Britain before catching them at the finish line.

The Orang (me) was the slowest of the lot, but it was all method acting, coming in 7996th out of 10,000 odd runners.

We raised over £1000 for Ape Alliance, and combined with the £450 of the Abseil, it was a fantastic success for our hairy cousins.

Runners (in no order): Matt, Zac, Sally, Josh, Naomi, Helen, Rachel, Ross, Charlotte, Clare and Guthrie
