Ever fancied throwing yourself over a cliff dressed as a gorilla? Thanks to volunteers at Bristol University, some of whom are in the climbing club, this fun-fund-raiser was a great success (and the cakes and cookies were GREAT too).

Led by the student Volunteer Coordinator Tom Mansfield, who is also part of the Univerity of Bristol's Mountaineering Society, volunteers were trussed up and sent down a cliff face on the Avon Gorge in Bristol on Wednesday.

The chairman of Ape Alliance, Ian Redmond OBE, also took part in the day's activities as he took his turn to abseil down the gorge.

The event has currently raised over £400 for Ape Alliance, and is still collecting.
